Noise terrain flyover
SubscriptionDisplaced wireframe mesh scrolling toward camera — synth landscape.
An 80x80 plane displaced entirely in the vertex stage: three sines at different frequencies and directions sum into a height that never tiles, and time is added to the depth axis so the terrain scrolls continuously toward a fixed low camera. Rendering it as wireframe rather than solid is what gives the eighties synth-landscape read, and because the displacement happens on the GPU the 6,400-quad mesh costs almost nothing. Height drives colour from amber in the valleys to lime on the ridges.
